Introduction

The Self-Evaluate module is an incredibly useful tool. Self-Evaluate allows you to see a live overview of your organisation all in one place, and is completely customisable to suit your needs.

With Self-Evaluate you can:
  1. Generate evaluations for any organisational level
  2. Maintain an overview of your progress at any given time
  3. Add Evaluation items and sub-evaluation items to keep track of organisational goals
  4. Maintain a commentary against each item to keep track of updates
  5. Link organisational goals with planning items and standards to triangulate school development

An example of a school-level evaluation is shown below.

A self-evaluation instance requires 3 basic elements:

- A School Framework

- A Grading System

- A Commentary Form

Create your Framework

Navigation Menu / Setup / Advanced  Setup / Frameworks Designer

1. Select "Add New Framework" - located in the top right hand corner of the screen.

2. A pop-up windows will appear. Build your Framework on this screen.

  1. What is your Framework called?
  2. Allocate to the Self-Evaluation module
  3. Allocate country and Framework type

Save your set-up and proceed to the overview screen when all fields are complete.

2. Select the paintbrush icon to begin adding parent and child nodes using "Add New Node" - located at the top right of the screen.
Nodes are the headers and sub-items that will be the "bones" of your Framework
Child nodes can be added using the 3 dots icon next to a Parent Node.

An example of a populated Framework is shown below.

Tip: You can add new Parent or Child nodes to your Framework at any time by navigating back to this screen.

Create your Grade Set

Navigation Menu / Setup / Advanced  Setup / Grades

The grade set is a set of indicators that each Framework item will be graded against.

1. To create a new set of grades, select "Add New Grade Set" - located at the top left of the screen.

2. Name your grade set - in this case we have used "SE Indicators" - and start adding your values using "Add new table value" - located at the top right of the screen.

From the create table you can allocate an item name, colour code and number indicator (optional).

Below is an example of a completed grade set.

Tip: You can add new values to your grade set at any time by navigating back to this screen.

Create your Form

Navigation Menu / Setup / Simple Setup / Forms Manager

The Self-Evaluation module requires a form to allow the user to write notes on nodes and update progress as a continuous evaluation.
The minimal fields a form needs is 1 x long text field.

1. Create a new form template using the "Add a New Template" button at the top left of the screen.

2. Allocate the form to the Self-Evaluation module and set its' purpose as "Self-Review" as below.

Note: We don't ever make this form available from Quick Add or Ad-Hoc, because the form is going to be integrated into the Self-Evaluation module.

3. Design the form as required.

An example of a commentary form is below.

Creating your First Instance

Dashboard / Self-Evaluation

Now all of the components have been set-up, an instance can be created in the module.

After clicking "Proceed" you will be re-directed to the page below. From here, you can edit the name of your instance, the sharing settings and the driving components.

3. Once happy, select "Publish" to create your instance.

You will then be re-directed to the module home page, where you will see your Instance is live and editable.

Using Self-Evaluate

Editing your Instance is simple and quick.

To edit a node, simply click into the node to open it.

From here you can:
  1. Add your commentary (far right)
  2. Update the status of your task using your grade indictors
  3. Upload evidence against that particular goal
This is an example of the Editing screen for an instance node.

Below is an example of a fully populated Self-Evaluation.
